Žiri izbora za Svetski automobil godine 2018 (World Car of the Year 2018) je danas na sajmu automobila u Njujorku saopštio da je pobednik ovogodišnjeg izbora – Volvo XC60.

Ovo priznanje inače dolazi samo nekoliko nedelja nakon što je manji Volvo XC40 proglašen za Evropski automobil godine 2018.

Raniji pobednici u izboru World Car of the Year su bili: Jaguar F-Pace (2017), Mazda MX-5 (2016), Mercedes-Benz C klasa (2015), Audi A3 (2014), Volkswagen Golf (2013), Volkswagen Up! (2012), Nissan Leaf (2011), Volkswagen Polo (2010), Volkswagen Golf (2009), Mazda2 / Mazda Demio (2008), Lexus LS460 (2007), BMW Serije 3 (2006) i Audi A6 (2005).

Isti međunarodni žiri (od 82 člana), koji je izabrao Svetski automobil godine 2018, dodelio je i nagrade u još nekoliko kategorija: World Urban Car of the Year, World Luxury Car of the Year, World Performance Car of the Year, World Green Car of the Year i World Car Design of the Year.
